2+ keynotes / 15+ talks
delivered from experts & practitioners

15th – 19th of June 2020, Online, Zagreb, Croatia
Data engineer at Poslovna Inteligencija, Croatia

Ivo Duvnjak

Graduated Physics from Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. Main interest has always been working with data, which led him to Poslovna Inteligencija. There he had the opportunity to work with all kinds of data and solution architectures and become a profficient Data engineer. His work on various projects involved handling structured and unstructured data stored on-premise, in cloud or in web pages while using enterprise, open-source tools or programming languages. The main goal has always been extracting additional value hidden inside the data, all that while keeping it simple and readable.

Databricks hands on for Data Science projects

You are looking for a platform that can be used to create data pipelines, explore your data and also provide you with the advanced possibilities to build and maintain your machine learning models? You would also like to have data structured and saved, for ad-hoc exploration, in a reliable and cost efficient storage? As an extra it would be great if this solution would be easily scalable to fit your company size and needs.

Well look no further because we are here to show you Databricks. This unified analytics platform gives opportunity for your team members to integrate and run their workflows in the same workspace, no matter what language they are using, SQL to query data from tables, Scala/Python to create ETL pipelines or maybe Python/R to do some predictive analytics. This platform was specifically created for Big Data and it offers fastest framework for distributed computing. Built on top of Apache Spark technology, it has been recognized by Microsoft and is fully supported in their Azure cloud solutions.

Throughout this workshop we will give you hands on experience with Databricks on a Data Science project that includes data procurement, preparation, exploration and advanced analytics.
