dr.sc. Marko Mitić


Dr. Marko Mitic is currently Data Scientist at Telesign, Communication Platform as a Service company and Assistant Research Professor in Applied Machine Learning at University of Belgrade, currently working in the area of fraud prevention and fraud detection. Previous he worked as a Data Scientist at Telenor in Customer Lifecycle Management team where he provided meaningful discoveries found in business segment. In March 2015, his PhD on applied Machine Learning in robotics received the best doctoral dissertation award from Belgrade Chamber of Commerce. His expertise includes deep dive analytics with actionable outputs, predictive and statistical modelling as well as development and implementation of novel supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms.

In this talk, Dr. Marko Mitic will present some insights into how the telco fraud is prevented and detected at Telesign, Communication Platform as a Service company. He is a member of Data Science team which uses sophisticated methods coupled with business knowledge and rich cross customer information from Telesign’s database to detect different types of fraudulent activities. The talk is focused on non-technical and overall approaches in detecting fraud in businesses across the globe.
